![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All the White Freightliners we drove from '67 to '80 with Cummins engines had the compression release located on the right side of the driver's seat on the floor by the shift lever. ![]() I don't know when Cummins first started using compression releases but my '59 White with a 220 Cummins has one. Any knowledge or advice would be much appreciated. I didn't even know Cummins put those valves on NTC's. It's still got the old lever-style handles to open the doors and this relief valve on the motor. sticker and nobody around the place knew for sure. However, I couldn't make out the date of manufacture on the I.D. The truck was really in wuite impressive shape considering it's been sitting for over a decade. today with a 350 NTC Cummins, mated to what I think was a 15 speed Fuller tranny. I just happened upon an old White-Freightliner C.O.E. Hey all.I'm wondering when Cummins would've started and stopped putting compression relief valves on their motors.
